Irvin Faust SenseiIrvin Faust Sensei has trained in martial arts for over 30 years, starting with Karate in 1970, Kung Fu in 1973 and Tae Kwon Do in 1975. Aikido, which he began in 1976, is the art to which he now dedicates his training and teaching. Aikido From 1976 through 1985 Faust Sensei was student at the Brooklyn Aikido Club under Luqman Hakeem Sensei, who was taught by Yamada Sensei (New York Aikikai). During that time Sensei also trained at New York Aikikai. He moved to Albany as a Nidan (2nd degree black belt) in 1985 to run the dojo. He is now a Rokudan (6th degree black belt) and is also a Shidoin (certified instructor. See the Aikido East link to "Certified USAF Shihan and Instructors"). Faust Sensei credits important influences on his Aikido to: Yamada Sensei (New York Aikikai), Chiba Sensei (San Diego Aikikai), the late Kanai Sensei (New England Aikikai) and Clyde Takeguchi Sensei (Capital Aikikai). His sempai at Brooklyn Aikikia, Frank Johnson Sensei (Aikido of Nassau County) and Carl Riley Sensei (Independent) were also important. Rank in other martial arts
