Kyu Exams

There will be an kyu exam the end of Oct 2008. Basic foundations are very important, so be prepared to demonstrate any technique from your kyu grade or below, and to fall!

Fees: Increase and discounts

Discounts: If you pay 3 months or more in advance you can get a 5% or 10% discount and eliminate paperwork (see fees).

Increase: For the first time in four years, to cover increased dojo maintenance costs, training fees will increase by $10 per month before the year is out (month to be determined). However, current students will be able to lock in at the old rate if you pay for 3 months, 6 months, or one year the month that fees increase.

Saturday August 16th: Todd Martin Benefit

Todd Martin, a young shidoin 5th Dan, from Massachusetts is battling a serious health condition. Sensei will be traveling to the Northampton, Mass Dojo for a benefit Seminar for Todd. It will be held on August 16th. If you can spare a small donation(i.e. $5, $10 or $20), Sensei will bring our contribution to the seminar. Please TODD MARTIN on an envelope, put in whatever donation you can afford and drop it in the DUES Box. Thank you. (envelopes are by the Dues Box)

August 4: Albany gets the triple play!

Congratulations to Linda, Kevin & Walter!! Linda Cox.....Powered thru an almost 15 minute exhibition. Sensei said he received many complements on Linda's Shodan test. Way to Go! Yamada Sensei saved the best for last...The big boys...Kevin Grace and Walter Alston were the last two to test at this year's Aikido Summer Camp for their Sandan rank. They each faced five attackers....Sensei said they put on quite a show. It was all captured on video and we'll pick a night soon to check out the action. Photos to come soon.
